Our neighbors are Jewish and are good friends our ours. Their son plays with Conor and lets Conor borrow lots of his cool toys. They invited us over to light the menorah with them on the 3rd day of Chanukkah, and have Latkes and play the Dreidel game. They also gave us some interesting historical information about why they celebrate Chanukkah. Interesting fact: Chanukkah isn't supposed to be a big gift-giving holiday, but has become commericalized, similar to Christmas. The Dreidel game is a gambling game and Chanukah gifts usually consist of money (thus, the chocolate gelt).
There is a children's book called, "The Chanukkah Guest" (by Eric Kimmel) that I used to read to my 2nd graders. We were their "Chanukkah Guests". It was a lot of fun!
