A Must Read Back to School Book

You may want to read this book first before sharing it with young children because it has a few "bad" words (like dumb and weirdo) and some sad parts about the characters.  It's about the author's experience in a special needs classroom, and about her amazing teacher.  And it's an amazing story. I loved it.

I think this book is appropriate for anyone in 2nd grade or older.  Patricia Polacco is my all time favorite.  In fact, this book wins the Sweeney Blue Ribbon for picture books this year (and believe me, I've/we've read a lot of them!)
