Weather Roulette in VERMONT

The forecast was grim with 40 - 50% chance of rain each of the days we would be in Sharon, VT.  But, as is typical each year at the Ward Campout, you never know.  We ended up having gorgeous weather.  It was hot enough to motivate us to swim in the chilly White River. The hiking trail was shaded just enough for a great hike up Patriarch Hill.  And when it did rain for a couple of hours on Friday, we went into the Visitor's Center and got a refresher course on Joseph Smith's family history and watched a new film about his sacrifices for the Church.  We ended the campout with a testimony meeting in the outdoor amphitheater, which is always a highlight.  And, my favorite part of the campout is sitting around the fire talking to friends, laughing as we share stories about our lives.  It was well worth 3 nights sleeping on the ground (and I don't like sleeping on the ground).  Conor and Megan ran everywhere on the lush green grass and they enjoyed the companionship of lots of little playmates.
