Happy Birthday BRIAN!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Brian turned *$#% last week. (Next year is a really big birthday for him.) 2 years ago the LaPierres delivered the most amazing cake to Brian on his birthday. It was a CHESS cake, complete with white and milk chocolate chess pieces decorating the bottom of the cake. It was a chocolate cake, with chocolate icing, made from scratch. This cake was not only delicious, but very memorable. Conor talks about the Chess Cake all the time and he was only 3 1/2 when he ate it! It was definitely his favorite cake. Brian was extremely impressed with it himself.



I decided to make a cake from scratch this year for Brian's big birthday. It didn't have chess pieces, but it was also chocolate and made with love. It was a Moist Devil's Food Cake (with chocolate whipped cream frosting). YUM. It turned out really well, but with no accolades from Conor or Megan.

Happy Birthday Dad! We took the cake over to Brian's mom's house to include her in our celebration. Conor & Megan filled the cake with all sorts of candles.

One of the many reasons I think Brian is the greatest is that both Conor and Megan adore him. He is a fantastic dad. The other day the kids wanted to play chess. Brian got down his chess board and the games began. Let me assure you that it takes a great deal of patience to teach a 5 1/2-year-old and 3-year-old to play chess cooperatively. They love it and Brian is always thrilled when they want to play.
