Pinewood Derby
This year was Conor's first official Pinewood Derby with Cub Scouts. (He actually participated when he was about 2 years old when I worked with the Webelos.) Both Megan and Brian also made cars to compete in the "sibling" race afterwards. Megan ended up using Brian's car (hers was MIA when we got ready to leave for the derby).

Ha, ha! I just blogged about our first pinewood derby too. Glad to see not every family is as competitive about it as we are. We try not to let it show too much though.
So cute!! Congratulations Megan and Conor!! Those cars are awesome!
We have pinewood derby soon. Sam's car almost won last year. Did you put extra weight on the car in the front or back?? We never can figure out the placement. -JS&S
We had some expert MIT/HARVARD guys who had the scales, weights, and lots of ideas about how to make a great car win! So, they put on the weight until it was just at 4 oz. I know we put it underneath the car, and Megan's was sticking out the back a little. Maybe that's relevant. (Maybe she added an extra coin to hers. They were putting nickels and pennies on the bottom as weights & Conor was more excited to take them off when he got home than race his car! he he)
